Course Details

 

Imagine will be hosting a WFA course (Wilderness First Aid) at WAB Wild’s Miao Liang Centre in Miyun, Beijing, in association with Wilderness Medical Associates International.

Date: April 14th – 15th 

Location: Beijing

 Once you have completed this course you will receive a WFA certificate and be qualified in Wilderness First Aid.

 

The best and most comprehensive course of its kind to offer relevant and realistic first-aid training for seasonal outdoor activities or short-term wilderness endeavors and pursuits.

Wilderness First Aid is a two-day introduction to general medical concepts and basic life support skills. It is targeted to the outdoor enthusiast on day trips or short adventures. The course is taught by professional instructors with significant patient care and backcountry experience.

WFA—Wilderness First Aid

Patient Assessment System; CPR; Circulatory System; Nervous System; Respiratory System; Fractures, Stable Injuries; Splints 1-Extremities; Hypothermia; Hyperthermia and Heat Illness; Near Drowning; Lightning Injuries; Wounds and Burns; Anaphylaxis; Lifting, Moving Extrication; Patient Carries; Backcountry Medicine.

 

Certifications

This course is traditionally scheduled for two days or 16 hours of instructional and practice time. Upon successful completion, students will receive certification in Wilderness First Aid and Adult CPR.

Certifications are valid for three years. Students should retake the WFA course or consider upgrading to the Wilderness Advanced First Aid and or Wilderness First Responder.

Successful completion of certification is based on 100% attendance, satisfactory performance on homework assignments and written quizzes, demonstrated proficiency with practical skills, and a successful grade on a final written exam.

 

 

Who can attend?

Students must be at least 16 years old to participate in this course. Those under 18 years of age require the written consent of a parent or guardian.

Wilderness First Aid Course tuition
Return Transport to location from WangJing West Subway Exit C
Accommodation (camping in shared Yurts (large, fixed tents))
All Meals (Lunch, Dinner, Breakfast and Lunch)

 

Not included:

 Sleeping bag (Required)
Snacks
Spare Drinking Water

 

Note: The Venue is a sustainable environmental centre, so you will have the opportunity to experience sustainable living. The electricity is solar-powered, there are compost toilets, and water heated by the sun! We hope this will add an extra element of excitement and education to your experience. Be aware that you may have to do things differently to adapt to this environmentally friendly living style E.g. take shorter showers, help to clean up after meals, flush the toilet with sand rather than water etc. Phone signal may also be limited, so enjoy the digital detox!
